News from the College of Business, Government & LawWe acknowledge the traditional owners, both past and present, of the various locations Flinders University operates on, and recognise their continued relationship and responsibility to these lands and waters. We recognise that Flinders was established on the lands of the Kaurna nation, with the main Flinders campus located near Warriparinga Welcome to the April edition of the College newsletter. The theme of this month's newsletter is external engagement – from the sold-out Fearless Career Executive Education event (which features in our photograph above), to industry engagement through our new Graduate Certificate in Social Impact, to conferences for business and legal studies teachers from across the state at our new City campus. Other stories in this edition include a reunion of Economics graduates who were part of the second Flinders intake in 1967 and went onto distinguished careers, and profiles of PhD student Mohammed Akhib (who publishes poetry in his spare time) and alumni coordinator Niki Hasler (who coaches the Oakdale under 12 netball team in her spare time). I do love learning more about our rich and diverse community! Kind regards, Professor Michael Gilding WelcomeA warm welcome to the newest members of our community!

EducationHow engagement is helping Social Impact Enrolments Industry engagement formed a key part of the strategy to attract students to the new course, the Graduate Certificate of Social Impact - with students pictured above with Course Coordinator, Sandra Robinson, second in from left to right. Collaborative efforts such as industry partners presenting at lectures, attending the launch event, appearing in a blog, and providing testimonials are playing a pivotal role in expanding the reach and visibility of the new course.
