Upcoming: Annual Disclosure of Outside Professional Activities for Investigators and Directors

  • Be on the lookout for an email with a link to a short Qualtrics survey to disclose outside activities and commitments related to your Chapman responsibilities (e.g., research, teaching, administrative, and responsibilities).
  • Who must disclose? All Investigators with active awards or pending proposals and all Directors.
Investigators include all researchers, regardless of title, independently responsible for designing, conducting, negotiating, contracting, or reporting externally sponsored projects. Directors are employees in administrative leadership positions or direction of recognized university research centers or institutes, where a regular job requirement is to make institutional decisions regarding externally sponsored activities on behalf of the University.
  • See Chapman’s Financial Disclosure Policy for more details. Contact Michelle Christy (mich15571@chapman.edu) with questions.

Reporting Bullying and Sexual Misconduct to Sponsors

  • Several sponsors have developed or are currently developing policies to promote a research workplace free of sexual harassment and bullying. These policies call for institutions to notify sponsors of allegations, investigations, or when a person is removed from an award due. NSF and NIH have also implemented policies around off-campus sponsored activities, such as conferences of field research.

  • Information about reporting harassment can be found at:https://www.chapman.edu/students/health-and-safety/title-ix/title-ix-reporting-options.aspx. A listing of the Chapman policies regarding discrimination and Title IX, sexual misconduct, and gender bias can be found on the Legal Affairs website.
