Pint Sized Plays. Melanie and David Cantwell as Grace and Kel
in 'Grace Finds Kel'.
Happening this weekend in Queenstown and Bannockburn is Pint-Sized Plays - live short-format theatre performed in pubs or small venues featuring a small cast, and using minimal set, props and tech support. The plays are submissions to an international playwriting competition and the audience gets to vote for their preferred script, with the winner being announced on the final night.
Remarkable Theatre is thrilled to be bringing the nine finalist scripts to life over three nights in Queenstown and one in Cromwell. Grab yourself some mates and a pint and enjoy the show! Each performance starts at 7.00pm and includes two intermissions - one halfway through and another after the last play while the audience votes are counted. Make sure you get along and support local theatre.
ACE '22 Exhibition
ACE '22 happened over the Easter break in Cromwell. Exhibition organiser Victoria Dawes said, 'It was a great privilege to be able to work and learn from so many members of Cromwell’s creative community
throughout the process of organising the ACE ’22 exhibition. I was especially delighted to work with multiple artists that have never exhibited their work before. Congratulations to the Award Winners: OCTA Gallery Award - Howard Krieg for his comic illustrations. Best in Show - Jo Ryan for her hand-woven wool scarves. Highly Commended - Andrew Bride, Aimee Bunnage and Grace Naylor. A huge thank you to PKay Maracin who worked tirelessly in all aspects of the exhibition, and to the Arts Central board for hosting the exhibition.' It is exciting to see new initiatives such as the ACE '22 turn out to be a great success and we look forward to revisiting this next year.
