Good afternoon,

The December 2021 Import-Export report shows total imports up by 1.6% for the month compared to December 2020. While growth rates are somewhat low for this year, we are comparing to very strong volume rates in 2020. In fact, if we compare to December 2019 imports, volume is up by 32%. Imports finished out the 2021 year strong, up 8.5% compared to the 2020 calendar year, and up 8.9% compared to 2019.  

Mexican imports continue to drive the strongest overall gains compared to last year, up 14.6% compared to December 2020 and up 13.4% for 2021 compared to 2020 calendar year.
