Message from the Head of School
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30 is “a day to honour the resilience, dignity and strength of survivors and intergenerational survivors, to acknowledge and accept their experiences at Residential School and remember the children who never came home. It's a chance to engage and educate people about BC's colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities” (gov.bc.ca).
At CHS, the week leading up to September 30 provides our community with an opportunity to reflect and to foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous histories and cultures. Read more.
Enhancing Decision-Making Skills Through Everyday Technology
In the Senior School, students are developing decision-making skills when it comes to technology. Through teacher modelling, classroom practices, technology instructions and their own mistakes, they are learning to make good choices. The School provides guidance to support their learning and help them make every choice a learning opportunity.
You can also support your child in developing good decision-making skills by understanding her day-to-day technology use. Learn more.
Explore Upcoming Learning Together Events
In addition to sharing resources through Purposeful Parenting, the School schedules in-person or virtual presentations on topics ranging from education, parenting, and well-being to contemporary issues or the School's strategic plan: Learning Together.
