From the Mayor

Can you believe we are almost halfway through this year and the July school holidays are fast approaching?

Starting at the end of this month, the Council has some great activities to help you keep your children entertained during the holidays. Here’s a sample of what’s planned.

On Friday 7 July St Ives skate park is offering free skateboarding and scooter coaching plus competitions with prizes.

At the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden primary aged children can learn bush survival skills, cook over a campfire and meet live native animals.

For creative kids, the Ku-ring-gai Art Centre at Roseville has jewellery and pottery workshops as well as writing, drawing and painting classes. To find out more and to book visit our website.

This week we’ve been chatting to residents about our new Net Zero website. This is a great resource for anyone wanting to cut their energy bills and be more sustainable.

We’ve also got several free workshops coming up over the next few weeks to help you get started on your net zero journey. Find out more at Net Zero Ku-ring-gai.

From next month until the end of the year, Councillors and I are going to be out and about talking to you about local issues. The Meet the Mayor & Councillors sessions will be posted on our website and we intend visiting every ward in Ku-ring-gai. Check our website for more details coming soon.

2023 Sustainable Better Business Awards and celebrating World Environment Day with Junior Rangers at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden.
