From the Mayor
Next week we celebrate Local Government Week and I'd like to share with you the amazing work of Council staff who make Ku-ring-gai the best place to live.
Council looks after 375 hectares of bushland, 30km of walking trails, 207 parks, playgrounds and sportsfields, to name just a few. It's a huge amount of work and I'm very proud of the staff who serve our community every day.
Two achievements that I’d like to share with you. We have been awarded a $2 million grant by the Labour state government for netball facilities in Ku-ring-gai. Read more.
Our Wildflower Garden has been recognised with a high commendation in the Outdoor Play category at the Outdoors NSW Awards this month. The Garden’s school holiday program won the commendation for creating meaningful, hands-on outdoor play experiences in its stunning natural environment.
This week the Council met to further consider the Norman Griffiths Oval upgrade project and have voted for the decision of the May 2026 Council meeting to stand. Read the minutes of this week’s meeting.
Finally, I invite you to share your suggestions on the future use of the former East Roseville Bowling Club site. This site offers great potential as a recreational space for our growing community. Before we put any ideas on paper, we want to hear directly from the community about what matters most to you and what you envisage for the site's future. Have your say by Sunday 16 August.
