We at Unplanned Good are focused on adoption: increasing awareness about adoption as an option for women facing unplanned pregnancy and improving care for the women who choose parents for their babies.
The State of Idaho Leads
in Infant Adoption Law Reform
Since 2022, Unplanned Good has focused on policy changes to
- increase awareness about adoption as an option, and
- provide better care for the women who choose adoption.
Three bills were signed into law in March 2024 by Idaho Governor Brad Little. Now, Idaho is the only State in the country that requires adoption education in health/sex ed classes!

Live Action Lawmakers Summit
- Dominique opened the Adoption Track with her heartfelt personal story. It was so touching. (Not a dry eye in the room!)
- Terri (who should have taken a moment to compose herself but didn't!) followed with a briefing on our legislative successes and plans.
- After, in the Q&A session, several lawmakers thanked us for bringing this topic to the Lawmakers Summit!
Your donations enabled us to sponsor an Adoption Track at this Summit!
We reached 70 lawmakers from 38 States, encouraging them to carry pro-adoption legislation in their next Session.
As a result, both Oregon and California will introduce our Adoption Education bill, Idaho S1308, in January.

Why should adoption matter to YOU??
One in four teens will get pregnant by age 20.
That means someone in your home, neighborhood or church is facing unplanned pregnancy NOW.
Women are 50% more likely to choose adoption when a partner, parent or trusted adult encourages them.
These women need support, not judgement.
Completing a pregnancy is healthier than ending it.
These women need information, not lies.
She makes the decisions!
She gets to choose the parents,
choose their values, age, faith, race ...
She can help create a family!
Most birth mothers look back on this time as both the hardest and the most beautiful time in their lives, when they were able to create a family!
Prospective parents are ready, willing and waiting to provide a great home.

All of this is about spreading the word about open adoption -- a reasonable option for women facing unplanned pregnancy. The 1970s and 80s were all about closed adoptions. Then we discovered the beauty of open adoption. Learn more about open adoption in this short video.
