Our Tiny Forest turns two this weekend! Sydney's first tiny forest in West Pymble was planted by the community in June 2024. It was a collaborative project between Ku-ring-gai Council, Earthwatch Australia, Bupa and local schools. The award-winning project has volunteer treekeepers who monitor animals and plants, check biodiversity, growth rates, carbon storage, temperatures, water flow and soil. Come along and celebrate the Tiny Forest’s second anniversary on Sunday 19 July, 9.30am – 12.30pm.
Keep your gardening gloves out and come and join us again the following weekend for National Tree Day. Our free tree-planting event is open to everyone. Join us at The Glade in Wahroonga from 10am to 1pm on Sunday 26 July. Visit our website for more details.
Finally, congratulations to all the winners and finalists in the 2026 Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Local Business Awards. Ku-ring-gai’s best in biz were celebrated at a ceremony on Monday night. This year, there were 16 winners from Ku-ring-gai and Business of the Year was awarded to our very own local Turramurra Veterinary Hospital.
These awards recognise the businesses which have shown outstanding customer service, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. I am proud to see so many winners from the Ku-ring-gai area. Congratulations to every business recognised this year.
