Hello My Lovely Friends, 

This week’s HD Good News is all about highlighting what is good, true, lovely and excellent.

We live in a fast paced world that is constantly feeding us information and continuously grasping for our attention.

With that said, we must be diligent with guarding our focus and perspective. 

You and I have been gifted with two extraordinary abilities;

Free Will and Creativity.

As we step into our daily lives, we’re faced with a multitude of life shaping decisions that are filtered through our beliefs. 

At any given moment we have the choice to focus our mind on the foundation of Faith and Truth or the foundation of Fear and Lies.

It is important to recognize what is good and to think about those things.

Prior to launching HD Good News, I found myself feeling stuck and in fear of the future.

Instead of staying in that space, I prayed and asked God for wisdom and direction .

I began to focus on the goodness of God and everything He has blessed me with. 

The passion and creativity that was once muted, has fully taken root in my soul and has become the catalyst to meeting like minded people everywhere I go. 

I recently met my new friend Reid Lightford at Dripp Coffee Bar in Fullerton, CA. 

While enjoying an Oat Milk Latte, I noticed an interesting book on the coffee table called  OGILVY ON ADVERTISING that became the conversation starter between myself and the young man sitting across from me in his blue suede shoes. 

One of my favorite things about Hidden Dinner are the conversations that take place at The Table, where strangers become friends.

Meeting Reid and getting to know his story truly motivated me to reconnect with our HD Community. 

Reid is an awesome person and I wanted to introduce him to all of you.

He truly exemplifies a person that is focused on what is good, true, lovely and excellent in all his circumstances.

Q: Hi Reid, can you please tell us a bit about yourself? 

A: My name is Reid Lightford, I’m 23 years old.

I want to help people be the greatest version of themselves and lead legendary lives . I’m a man of God and a follower of Jesus Christ. 

Q: Why do you have such a strong faith? 

A: God saved my life and if it wasn’t for Jesus, I wouldn’t be here right now; I wouldn't be alive.

Being a true Christian is not about religion, it’s about having a relationship with God The Father through His Son.

Because of Jesus, I experience a joy that never goes away. I have peace all of the time.

Even when I go through struggles, I’m able to lean on God and continue to walk in joy. 

Q: You’re an entrepreneur, what is your business ?

A: Yes, I operate my own business. My main focus is writing copy and internet marketing. 

Q: What current business projects are you working on ? 

A: I’m creating online digital products and courses to teach others how to write good copy for their business. 

I’m working with a friend to create a business focusing on teaching young men how to become legends in all areas of life; finance, relational, health and spirituality . 

I also write copy for several clients. 

Q: Why do you like coffee shops? 

A: I come for the productive environment and meeting new people.

Over time I acquired a love for the drinks.

The Iced Lavender Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and Iced Vanilla Latte with Almond Milk at Dripp are my favorites. 

Q: How did you start your own business ? 

A: I started when I was 17 years old. I failed at 9 businesses before seeing success in my current company.

I tried Network Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Affiliate Marketing , Drop Shipping , Sales Closer, Funnel Building, Email Marketing and Online Courses on Mindset,  before I landed on Writing Copy and Internet Marketing . 

Q: What is your favorite part of being a business owner? 

A: I love sales, it has given me a pursuit to understand human nature . I love the art of persuasion.

Learning the steps and seeing the results , being able to apply it for The Kingdom. 

I had to close the deal with myself to get over my emotional traumas .

Through that process I’ve learned to help other people see a different view and have them take action for their emotional traumas. 

Q: What are some of your hobbies ?

A: I play the guitar; Indie Rock, Jazz, Gospel.

I love working out, building muscles but not like Arnold Schwarzenegger .

I love gardening . I’m a student of life.

Q: Anything else to share with our friends? 

A: I live my life focused on God and what really matters, Salvation through Christ.

I choose to walk in the love of Christ and treat all people as Children of God.

I like to treat everyone as royalty .

We wouldn’t disrespect a King, so why would we treat our brothers and sisters any differently .

I live life by the Golden Rule and love others.
