Pet Pain Management Facebook Live Q&A
Farewell from Davina"After a great deal of contemplation, and not a little sadness, I have decided to step away from Anderson Moores after 15 extraordinary and exhilarating years. I will be leaving in June. It has been a huge journey and I want to thank all our wonderful referring vets for being so supportive of us from when we were just 3 vets and 2 nurses in 2006, struggling to answer the phones, to where we are now. We are over 250-strong providing comprehensive support to
you, your clients, and their pets. It has been an enormous privilege to have been able to work for you, to have shared jokes on the phone, shared the joys and sadness of your clients and the pleasure of treating their pets. Thank you."

Matt Gurney appointed new Clinical DirectorWe are delighted to announce that our Head of Anaesthesia, Matt Gurney, will be joining the Senior Leadership Team here at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists as Clinical Director. “I
am really excited to be taking on the position of Clinical Director. My role is to ensure our amazing clinical teams have everything they need to provide exceptional care to our patients, their owners and you, the referring vet. I look forward to getting out and meeting as many of you as possible as soon as I can! In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.”

Don't forget to watch our CRGV Facebook LiveOur Director and American, RCVS and EBVS European specialist in small animal internal medicine, David Walker, recently hosted another Facebook Live on the subject of the potentially fatal disease, CRGV (Alabama Rot). David answered questions on the disease, which has already claimed 26 lives so far in 2021, and gave insights
into symptoms, treatment and data across the UK. It has already reached more than 1,000 people and you can watch it again here.

Dental effects of some long-term medicationOur Veterinary Dentist, Matthew Oxford, recently treated two cats with oral problems caused by long-term medications. Both of the cats had idiopathic hypercalcaemia and were treated with
Alendronate to control this. An important adverse effect of Alendronate is that it can cause osteonecrosis of the jaw (reported in humans and a single report in cats).

Puppy on the mend after being trampled by a horse The Vet Times has recently published a story based on a case we saw earlier this year, when worried owners feared their puppy had been killed after being trampled by a horse. After her owners rushed her to the vets, Daisy was referred to Anderson
Moores, where Bruno Lopes took charge of her care.
