No images? Click here Hi friends, The Midsumma Festival is officially underway after last weekend’s Midsumma Carnival – which enjoyed an incredible turn out with our biggest crowds ever! It’s estimated more than 120,000 people joined us at Alexandra Gardens on Sunday 21 where an eclectic mix of fabulous LGBTQIA+ acts impressed attendees across three stages for 11 hours. This Victoria’s Pride trader update includes a link to Vicky P’s Perks, our site map, information on road closures and bump-in, ideas for your window displays, and a reminder about our social media toolkit. If you have questions, you can contact Helen, our Precinct Coordinator, on 0493 575 654. Vicky P's Perks! Please make sure you submit your listings for Vicky P's Perks! If you are offering a special offer, discount, or deal at your business in celebration of the Victoria’s Pride event, submit your listing now! We'll be promoting Vicky P's Perks on social media and via printed QR codes around the precinct so party-goers know where to go to find the best deals around the street party. Some ideas from last year: percentage or dollar off discounts, 2-for-1 deals, competitions, giveaways, waived joining fees, or special Pride-themed products not usually offered. This is a great opportunity to help your business stand out and draw in more patrons this Sunday! Road closures for Victoria's PridePlease be aware there will be multiple road closures from 3am Sunday 11 February until 3am Monday 12 February. Roads will be closed at: Gertrude/Langridge Street, between Brunswick Street and Oxford Street Smith Street, between Victoria Parade and Charles Street Peel Street, between Smith Street and Cambridge Street Surrounding streets within the precinct will be managed carefully by Traffic Controllers for local residents. Check out signage for parking changes. Site Design and DecorMidsumma has conducted extensive planning around the site taking into consideration existing parklets and footpath trading. Event infrastructure, including marquees, oil drums, umbrellas and outdoor furniture will be set up along the street in specific locations from 3am on Sunday and has been designed to support local businesses offering food, beverages and shopfront performances. Please note that all event furniture will then be removed on Sunday 11 February from 9:30pm. Image: Victoria's Pride 2023. Captured by Teague Leigh.
