OCF just produced Crossroads and Connections: Tracking Oregon’s Progress as part of a research series that explores data trends across the state. The report provides 100 pages of data and analysis in seven focus areas that define what makes a thriving and healthy community. “We do not live single-issue lives,” the report declares. “Insights into our progress appear in the complex intersections of health, education, economy, the natural and built environment, housing, social connection and belonging.” Annual Report Highlights Generosity of Donors The newly released 2023 Annual Report showcases the full breadth of OCF’s impact in all 36 counties of Oregon. It features stories of generosity. Nels Gabbert and Eileen Trudeau of Joseph, Oregon say, “OCF helps us to take care of the important details and keeps us in contact with like-minded folks and projects who want to strengthen communities.” Community Grants Strengthen Local Solutions, Opportunities This year’s Spring Cycle of Community Grants from OCF provided flexible operational support to 281 nonprofits in every corner of Oregon. These grants have serious impact for community needs in the areas of food insecurity, housing, health, environmental stewardship, arts and culture, community development and more. Giving Reflections We invite you to ask these questions of a neighbor or friend to spark a meaningful conversation: What makes a healthy, thriving community? How have your educational experiences, community or religion influenced your giving? When did you realize that not everyone’s basic needs are being met? How did this affect your giving?
