As 2022 comes to a close and we prepare for the new year, here is a special message from our CEO, Erica Johnson:
“What a year it has been here at QA Cafe. We celebrated our 20th anniversary with our first full year in our new office, bringing a new sense of camaraderie and community with each other and our customers around the world. We added the brilliant Tim Carlin to our team, a dedicated engineer focused on the nuts and bolts of our core software products - CDRouter, PassPort, and CloudShark. We also saw an even stronger bond between QA Cafe and our industry partners, including the Broadband Forum, prpl Foundation, RDK, and our new CloudShark Academy training program with network analysis expert Betty DuBois.
Lastly, our renewed focus on customer success really has me thinking about why we do what we do at QA Cafe. We couldn’t be who we are without you, our customers, building networks, and solving problems that make the modern world run and thrive. Thank you so much from all of us at QA Cafe. Announcing CloudShark Academy with Betty DuBois
QA Cafe and industry expert Betty DuBois have partnered to create CloudShark Academy, an expert training program to onboard and provide professional development opportunities to your team! She brings over 20 years of experience in network analysis and troubleshooting to her clients, helping them to understand the fundamentals of network packet capture and investigation for a wide array of use cases.
We know that this is valuable for so many of our users. If you have questions about how to get started, please let us know!
CloudShark 3.10 includes support for QUIC, DoH decryption, JA3/s communityID, and more
CloudShark 3.10 arrived in November with many new features, including new protocols (DoH/QUIC dissection, WPA3 detection, audio playback for OPUS, etc.), TCP improvements, and support for JA3/s and CommunityID for correlating network traffic across different tools. 3.10 is live on CloudShark Personal SaaS and available for upgrade to CloudShark Enterprise users! You can also catch some sample captures of these protocols here.
QA Cafe spoke at prpl Summit 2022, the year’s premier event for Service Providers, OEMs, Silicon Vendors, ISVs, and open-source developers committed to the prpl foundation’s vision for open-source Wi-Fi and broadband CPE. The event featured an array of speakers, keynotes from operators and industry stakeholders, application demonstrations, and more.

CDRouter, the leading test solution for broadband gateways and Wi-Fi systems, is consistently updated with new features, tests, and automation tools. The Customer Success team is always looking for ways to help our customers get the most out of CDRouter.

QA Cares - Preparing Meals for Operation Blessing
Outside of tech, we love our local community in the seacoast New Hampshire region. The QA Cafe team volunteered at Operation Blessing before the United States Thanksgiving Holiday to package up some holiday food boxes for those in need. It was a great opportunity to give a little back!
QA Cares, our charitable initiative to grow and support new technologies while training the next generation of engineers, was also glad to donate to the Rural Technology Fund, the ISOC Journal Foundation, and various technology camps and teams in our area this year, helping to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education across the United States and beyond.
Parallel testing option for CDRouter
As a reminder, earlier this year we released our new parallel testing license option for CDRouter. Many of our users have tried and loved it! This option is an affordable way to get the most out of your CDRouter’s automated testing environment - up to 5x more than before! Reach out to sales if you want to try it out!
Hosted option for CloudShark Enterprise
CloudShark Enterprise is now available completely installed, configured, and hosted by us. This gives our customers all of the benefits of CloudShark without the need to procure or maintain their own resources. Contact us to find out more!
What’s in store for next year?
We have a lot in the queue for 2023. We received great feedback from our CDRouter Roadmap survey. We heard you, and we will be incorporating your responses into our future release plans. In addition, look for news around testing 5G fixed-wireless gateways, and more improvements to our PassPort solution for end-device testing!
