Your Wave and Arrival TimeYou are marching in Wave E, the queer community groups and organisations. Your group must arrive at Ian Johnson Oval at 9:50am. It is essential that all marchers adhere to this call time; it allows us to help the tens of thousands of people marshal into position. If you're in a group, this applies to everyone that you're marching with. If you do not arrive at your appointed time, you may lose your place in the march. VehiclesThe arrival time for all vehicles and drivers is between 9 - 9:30am, regardless of your wave arrival time. Vehicle passes and road maps coming your way soon! Sign-InUpon arrival at Ian Johnson Oval, one member from your contingent must check-in to collect the wristbands for you and your group. Sign-in is located at St Kilda Sports Club - see the map below! You're Invited to the Participant BriefingTuesday 27 January, 6-7pm. Attend online via Zoom. 🔗 Register to receive our Zoom link here: Before the march takes place, we hold an annual meeting to present key information and answer any and all questions. Pride March is huge, so it's crucial you attend to stay across details including:
It's compulsory for one representative from your group as well as all vehicle drivers to attend this briefing. Click the link above and enter your details to access the link to the Participant Briefing. The meeting will take place on Zoom. You don't need an account to access the meeting. If you're a Zoom newbie you can find tips on how to join meetings here. Image credit: Flynn Smeaton Accessible Marshalling TentThe Ian Johnson Oval has some accessibility challenges, so an Accessibility Marshalling Tent will be provided at the start of the march. This is set up for those who need to wait in the shade, with seating. It's also great for anyone using mobility devices, as the tent is adjacent to both the footpath and a ramp connecting to the parade route. Any marchers can assemble at this tent and join the rest of their group when it’s their time to march. Volunteers will be on hand to assist. The new accessible drop-off point for participants is at the intersection of Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive (just north of tram stop 16). See Google Maps or option 1 of Pride March Access Points). This can be accessed via:
Note that no parking is available — this is a drop-off zone only. From here it's about a 3 minute walk or wheel to the march marshalling area on Ian Johnson Oval, including the Accessible Marshalling Tent. If you would like assistance with way-finding, please email access@midsumma.org.au prior to the event or call 0419 682 064 on event day. Your to-do list:
