ARTS NEWSLETTER - April 2012

Hello Everyone,
The nippy mornings have started and soon the leaves will be glowing golden, making for a stunning Easter landscape. With only just over a week to go before our very first Easter Open Studio Weekend, we are absolutely thrilled with the artists’ response to this event. The Arts Trail, which will be held on Easter Saturday and Sunday, has grown from 40 artists displaying their workplace and art, to over 50. The Arts Trail website page is up and running with maps and details of all the artists available for downloading - or, maps can be picked up from information centres across the region. All we need now is for
people to take the opportunity to visit these creative individuals by hopping into their cars and taking part in the free trail. Support the artists by getting a carload of fellow-art-lovers together; design your own self-drive and check out these wonderful spaces across our beautiful region. There are three annual Easter art exhibitions on display over the long weekend in Clyde, Cromwell and Wanaka as well as a gathering of poets and musicians for the annual Bards Ballads and Bulldust Festival in Naseby. Check the links below for more details.
The Clyde Wine and Foods Festival is set to be better than ever on Easter Sunday, with lots of good music and delicious tipples and treats to tempt your taste buds. So, with plenty of events on, make the most of everything that is happening around Central and enjoy our glorious autumn for what it is; the last season before the cool dark ages.
One last thing - the Dunedin School of Art is keen to update their alumni database, so if you are a past student or know anyone who may wish to stay in contact with the school, click here to let them know. Cheers
Maxine
