Reminder: Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) permits

Permits to import new bulk hydrofluorocarbons must be issued the year before you import them. This means for 2023 imports, you must have your permit issued this year.

Applications for special permits to import new bulk hydrofluorocarbons for 2023 close on 1 July 2022, and close on 1 September 2022 for “grandparented” permits.

We cannot accept late applications.

Export permits, exporters' import permits, import permits for recycled HFCs, and exemptions for transhipments, can be applied for in the year the import or export is occurring.
