In cooperation with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Jacob Jensen Design Bangkok has officially opened its temporary design studio for business. The appointed Bangkok studio creative director, Rakpong Songpitak and project director, Tobias Fifield will head up the new operation.
JACOB JENSEN visualize its first ever show-shop in Shanghai. The aim of the show-shop is to create a tangible reference point of JACOB JENSEN stores and department store installations in China.

Jacob Jensen Design acquires new investors
As part of the ongoing global developments, Jacob Jensen Design A/S acquired two new investors during the 1st quarter of 2014.
Danish renowned entrepreneur and author, professor Lars Kolind and Dutch S. Weisz Uurwerken B.V have together invested in Jacob Jensen Holding A/S.

Jacob Jensen Design in Bangkok opens for business
In early 2013, plans to establish a regional design and brand studio in Southeast Asia were revealed. Bangkok creative director, Rakpong Songpitak and project director Tobias Fifield have been engaged to develop plans and vision for the regional branch in close cooperation with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).
Today, the design studio has opened for business operating out of a temporary office in Bangkok until the permanent construction is completed by first quarter of next year.

New appointments to Jacob Jensen Design Studio’s
Sales tycoon Karsten Nielsen joins JACOB JENSEN as the newly appointed global sales director. Karsten will be responsible for the overall sales operations of JACOB JENSEN brand products globally.
Jacob Jensen Design’s Shanghai studio appoints three directors; Jane Shen, responsible for sales and operations. Previously Shen was the Key Account Director for ET in Huawei. Among others joining the team in Shanghai are project director Sebastian Maleville and creative director Vu Chu. Junior Designer’s, Diana Lund, Doris Wang, and Danny Li have also joined the Shanghai studio to support client project developments and will be working closely with the management team at the studio.
Jacob Jensen Design’s Bangkok studio has appoints Tobias Fifield who will be joining Rakpong Songpitak as the project director for the sister studio, along with Industrial design intern, Nharath Waiyawajamai. Fifield left former founder of Frog Design, Hartmut Esslinger’s studio to join Jacob Jensen Design in Bangkok.

JACOB JENSEN unveils its first show-shop in Shanghai
After months of development, JACOB JENSEN visualize its first ever show-shop in Shanghai in cooperation with DeTao Group. The aim of the show-shop is to create a tangible reference point of JACOB JENSEN stores and department store installations in China.
The concept is now being installed at the branch office in Bangkok and is expected to be completed by fourth quarter of 2014.

JACOB JENSEN joins forces with Everest World in Thailand
JACOB JENSEN joins forces with FICO Group’s distribution house, Everest world, specializing in distribution of luxury consumer products. The Everest World Companies highly centralized operation encompassing distribution and retailing have set plans for JACOB JENSEN in Thailand.
JACOB JENSEN’s global sales director Karsten Nielsen says, “We are very delighted with the joint venture and we aim for a prosperous cooperation in expanding the distribution of our Brand Products in Thailand. We will continuously work towards making our products more available in the Asian market in the coming year”.

Latest JACOB JENSEN products
In March 2014, JACOB JENSEN premiered its bold new collection of timepieces and jewellery at Baselworld 2014.
JACOB JENSEN’s jewellery collections in total, made their worldwide debut: Arc, Sapphire and Edge. All three are composed of high quality stainless steel, with PVD plating in gold, rose gold and black.
Beautiful clean lines, flexible colour combinations and a purchase friendly price point are what sets JACOB JENSEN’s new Curve and Strata collection of watches apart. Poly-Control ApS teams up with JACOB JENSEN
Poly-Control is a Danish family owned business aimed at making innovative and smart home automation products.
Second half of 2014, JACOB JENSEN will be launching a smart lock that can be operated using a smart device wirelessly. An application driven product allows for its user to grant access to visitors from anywhere in the world.

Awards and distinctions
During mid 2014, JACOB JENSEN’s Curve timepiece series received an honorable mention by the Red-dot Award jury. The accolade of the Red Dot Design Award, the “Red Dot”, is an internationally recognized quality label for excellent design. To date, Jacob Jensen design has received a total of 16 Red-dot Awards and 1 honorable mention.
