Over the coming weeks, we will be making software version 2.8.1 available for all Octalarm alarm diallers. In addition to the usual security updates, this version also includes a number of functional improvements.
We recommend that you install this software update on your device(s).
Installing software version 2.8.1
Your alarm must be connected to the internet to receive the update.
Phased roll-out
The software update is being rolled out in phases, in batches of 1,000 detectors. As a result, it may take several weeks before the update notification appears on your detector. Do you manage multiple detectors? If so, one detector may receive the update before another.
As soon as the message “New software is available” appears on the alarm detector’s display, you can carry out the update yourself. The update process is safe, takes approximately 15 seconds and only briefly interrupts the alarm.

What has changed?
- The ‘Switch output’ function has been added.
- Disabled alarms are visible again on the dashboard, even for detectors with more than 8 inputs.
- The large clock is back on the dashboard.

Changing, for example, the account number or your company details can be done by yourself directly in the portal; due to AVG legislation, we have no rights to do that for you. Our manual clearly lists the answers to frequently asked questions about Octalarm Connect for you.
