Kia ora PHC MECA Member,

As reported recently in NZNO CE Paul Goulter’s Member Update discussions have been continuing with Government in relation to the funding shortfall that is holding up reaching a proposed PHC MECA.

On Tuesday 21 June representatives from NZNO, NZMA, Green Cross Health, GenPro, Health NZ and the Ministry are meeting together for the first time to discuss the impasse and whether progress can be made in terms of additional funding.

An Update will follow this meeting.

We appreciate your frustration at the length of time that has passed but rest assured we are endeavouring to find a way forward and will be developing a plan around collective actions we could take during July to bring about progress. We look forward to sharing more with you about this.
