In this newsletter, we have an update on courses now recognised for the new main parallel generation systems endorsed class of registration.

We have also highlighted some recent complaint decisions made by the Board, I encourage you to have a read of these and take note of the learnings from them.

Take care, work safely, and thank you for taking the time to read this edition of the newsletter.

A timely reminder about certification responsibilities: Providing accurate and prompt certification is not only a regulatory requirement—it can also be critical in preventing disciplinary matters from escalating to a hearing.

Please remember:

  • Attach supporting documents such as photos and/or plans where possible.
  • You must not withhold certification due to commercial disputes.
  • Timeframes matter:
  • Certification must be provided within 20 working days to the person who contracted the work (Reg 74(E)(2)).
  • Certification must be provided within 10 working days to other entitled parties (Reg 74(E)(4)).

Using certification as a payment incentive is not permitted. Let’s continue to uphold the integrity of our profession by meeting these obligations.

Ngā mihi nui,
Russell Key
Presiding Member
