Montana Attestation
Montana requires surplus lines brokers to attest to their surplus lines business each quarter in accordance with MCA 33-2-302. Attestations may be submitted throughout the quarter and must be completed through the primary Agent’s SLIP+ account. Filers are encouraged to submit attestations throughout the quarter as the policies are filed in SLIP+. To submit attestations, log in to the agent’s SLIP+ account and navigate to the Compliance tab. Montana attestations should be submitted when filing policies or at least once per quarter. All attestations for Montana policies effective in 1Q2026 and 2Q2026 should be submitted in SLIP+ for States as soon as possible to avoid referral to the Office of the Montana State Auditor. Colorado and Kansas: Legacy Endorsements
Credit endorsements on policies previously reported to states via legacy platforms will be questioned (TIQ) pending review and approval by our state partners. To expediate the review and approval process, filers can provide the following information to the SLIP+ Client Services team:
Once approved by the state, accepted credit transactions will be reflected on the subsequent state tax invoice. Please contact the SLIP+ Client Services team with any questions regarding legacy credit filings.
Policy Transfer Request
Submitting transfer of business requests proactively helps expedite the transfer process, allowing assuming agents to begin reporting endorsements on transferred policies. Filing endorsements prior to submitting a transfer of business request will result in Transactions in Question (TIQ). The following information must be provided to the SLIP+ team before a policy can be transferred from one agent (relinquishing agent) to another (assuming agent).
If an agency is unable to obtain a signature from the relinquishing agent, please email the SLIP+ team at info@slipplus.com with an explanation of the circumstances and the supporting documentation referenced above.
