PI Eligibility Policy Update

The PI eligibility policy has been updated to allow graduate students and postdoctoral associates to be named as PI on grant applications for fellowships or traineeships, as well as IACUC, IRB, and IBC studies with their Faculty Advisors and Dean’s approval.

New! Office of Research & Graduate Education Virtual Office Hours

We are excited to announce the launch of Virtual Office Hours for all our departments:

Pre-Award: November 7 and December 5, 2023, 11am-12pm
Post-Award: October 31, 2023, 9:30am-10:30am
IRB – First Tuesday of every month: November 7 and December 5, 2023, 3pm-4pm
IACUC, COI, Export Controls – Fourth Tuesday of every month: October 24, and November 28, 2023, 3pm-4pm
Graduate Education: beginning and end of semester.
Industry Alliances & Commercialization – Every third Thursday of the month: October 19, November 16, December 21, 2023, 3pm-4pm

NSF Office Hours

NSF announces open office hours - 1:1 sessions with NSF program staff to address researchers' questions about carrying out ethical and responsible research programs. See their NSF site for more information.

CHOC Annual Research Day

CHOC is hosting their annual research day on November 15th 2023 from 8am-4pm. The theme this year is Transforming Challenges into Opportunities: Pediatric Mental Health Services Research.

Chapman researchers are welcome to attend and to submit an abstract. Work previously presented (within the past year) may be submitted for consideration. Accepted abstracts will be presented LIVE at the Research Day Poster Session on the CHOC campus on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023. Abstracts do not need to be about mental health to be submitted or accepted. Click here to view abstract guidelines and to submit an abstract.

Office of Research & Graduate Education Faculty Open House

OOR & GE's faculty open house is on Wednesday October 11th from 2-4pm in Von Neumann Hall! Come grab some snacks, win some swag, and sit in on one of our many info sessions aimed at addressing your research, scholarship, and creative activity questions. Remember to save the date for our Rinker open house for faculty, staff, and admin on November 8th from 1-3pm!

IS&T Research Computing

Monthly Hands-on Workshops! Monday, October 16, 2023, from 9:00am-10:00am, DeMille Hall 150. Bring your laptop for one-on-one support or feel free to drop in to discuss topics of your choice. For more information please contact researchcomputing@chapman.edu.
