Meet SWHPN Member and GP Obstetrician, Dr Peta Sadler Dr Peta Sadler is a GP Obstetrician working out of Duchess Medical Practice, Busselton and Busselton Health Campus. Peta's area of interests are perinatal and infant health and wellbeing, and child development. Peta was a guest speaker at our recent Health Forum in Bunker Bay and gave an insightful presentation on Women's Health. Peta initially wanted to become a general physician, but after receiving some good advice from a friend about becoming a rural doctor she decided to sign up for a six month rotation at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). Peta went on to complete the Advanced Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Peta is passionate about women’s rights and gender bias, inclusivity (including neurodivergence) and learning about living an ethical life. "I feel I have the best job in the world", says Peta. Peta moved to the South West after falling in love with a farmer from the Great Southern! Peta and her husband agreed that the South West was a great place to live and is central to both of their extended families. When Peta is not working at the practice or busy delivering babies at the hospital, she loves being out in the great outdoors! Peta also enjoys classical music and plays the violin in the South West Philharmonic Orchestra. In her spare time you will find Peta at home with her husband trying to get on top of mountains of washing, cooking, juggling the kids extracurricular activities, catching up with friends, playing Lego and board games and fitting in some much needed sleep! 2022 WA Rural Health Excellence Award Winner, Dr Fiona Spencer Congratulations to Dr Fiona Spencer of Bunbury Regional Hospital who has been named WA Country Health Service Resident Medical Officer of the Year 2021.
