A Note from the ED

This is a BIG, exciting issue, so make sure you read all the way through!

Can you believe it is time for the Create-A-Thon? This year we will once again work with GiveButter to raise funds, build community, and increase our inventory for winter.  Now is the time to sign up as a Pod or individual and prepare to help K4P raise money and spread warmth.  Go HERE to start supporting the Create-A-Thon.  More details about the event are below, including FREE workshops and our prize announcement!

I am so excited to see some of you at our upcoming virtual events.  Putting faces to email addresses will be so lovely!

Gratefully-

Kelly

Community Member of the Month

Kathy Partridge

Kathy does it all! She has served on the Knitting4Peace Board of Directors for a little over a year and recently finished her stint as Board Chair.  She also is a maker, fundraiser, and cheerleader.  In March, Kathy represented K4P at the Women Power Change Conference and we could not have asked for a better person to tell the world our mission.

We are so grateful to Kathy for the impact she has made on our community and our programs.  We are a better group because of her.  Thank you, Kathy!

It's Create-A-Thon Season!

Our summer fundraiser is back and better than ever!

June 25-July 15, 2023

Help us reach our $4,200 goal!

Like last year, there are many ways to participate in the Create-A-Thon and show your love of Knitting4Peace.  You can Sponsor, Stitch, or Support, and win prizes just as you did in 2022.  However, this year you can also attend one of our FREE workshops and/or a Create-A-Longs! Learn more about all of it below!

Sponsor:  Want to sponsor a friend and/or Peace Pod? Pick your donation level on our GiveButter page and then in the next window write a message so we know who you are supporting. We will then attribute your donation to that maker or Pod. Go HERE to start sponsoring!

Stitch: The need for our items is growing and we need to prep for the return of cold weather. Peace Pods and Makers are encouraged to make as many Knitting4Peace items as they can during the event. We especially need mittens and finger puppets as we frequently run out of these two items throughout the year and we need to build up our inventory. Make sure to follow our guidelines on ALL items so your items are immediately usable and stitch, stitch, stitch! Go HERE for K4P patterns! Go HERE for finger puppet patterns!

Support: You do not have to be a maker to participate. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support our programming and help us reach $4,200, you can easily do that HERE.

PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

The Top Fundraising Maker Prize will be a Knitting4Peace gift bag that includes a tote, measuring tape, and much more.

The Top Fundraising Peace Pod will win an exclusive engagement with crafting celebrity, Donna Druchunas! Learn more about her HERE!

K4P's Most Needed Items:

Finger Puppets

We need finger puppets with great faces!

If you haven't tried it before and are up for something new, go to HERE for fun, easy finger puppet patterns on Ravelry. They are quick, easy to make, and make a huge difference to the children and physicians who receive them. It is important to take as much care with your finger puppet faces as you do with your Peace Pals.  Please no X eyes.

We go through ~100 finger puppets per month and oftentimes have to turn physicians down due to a lack of inventory. If you love making Peace Pals, why not give puppets a chance? You can make butterflies, cats, elephants, little Pals...let your imagination run wild!

Curious about how clinicians use finger puppets to help children?  Go HERE to learn more from a fun video!
