New ARC Hub for ICT launched at TU Dublin to accelerate Ireland's ICT and AI innovation
Speaking at the launch, Dr Diarmuid O’Brien, CEO of Research Ireland, said: "The ARC Hub programme is one of the most imaginative and potentially disruptive programmes ever delivered by Research Ireland. At its heart is a scalable model of entrepreneurism that will generate and convert talent and ideas into future enterprises."

SURG Water: Working to provide safer water for rural healthcare facilities
SURG Water’s UV-based water treatment technology is transforming maternal health facilities in rural Malawi by providing reliable access to clean, safe water.
This groundbreaking initiative, led by Prof. Kevin McGuigan and Dr. Jakub Gajewski of Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), won the Research Ireland – Irish Aid SDG Challenge in 2024, securing €1.1 million in funding to further develop and scale its solar-powered disinfection reactor over two years.
