External Review Program Now Open for October NIH Deadlines The Office of Research and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) External Review Program continues to provide a regular NIH style review of R01 level grant applications. External review has also been extended to include K-level awards for MCW investigators in any area of research. CTSI membership is not required. Interested faculty should contact Nicole Davis or Ann Rosenthal, MD, for an Application Form and additional details. The current round targets the NIH R01 deadline of October 5 and K-level deadline of October 12. Application forms for this round are due July 13 (R01) and August 1 (K-series).
Clinical Research Tip of the Month Have a quality improvement project that you'd like to register with the IRB so you can publish? Dr. Carrie Peterson, the department's designated Patient Safety and Quality Officer, can provide researchers/teams with a Department specific project form that will facilitate the vetting process to approve if the project is QI or needs to reviewed by the IRB. This form and approval letter
(if deemed QI) get attached in an eBridge submission in which section 3.1 "Project Category" is answered "Quality Improvement."
