From the MayorThere’s been plenty of talk in the community about e-bikes on our streets and footpaths, and Council has been listening. Working closely with police and residents, we’ve launched a new education campaign, Ride Safe Ku-ring-gai.
Our message to riders is simple: slow down, ring your bell and share the path. Everyone using our paths should feel safe and comfortable, whether they’re on foot, on a bike or pushing a pram and a little courtesy goes a long way. Find out more at Ride safe Ku-ring-gai. Foodies are in for a treat this Sunday at the Wahroonga Food and Wine Festival. Council is a proud supporter of the festival, which brings
together more than 30 wineries, food from around the world and live music. I’m going to be there between 11am and 12 noon, along with Deputy Mayor Matt Devlin and other Councillors. Come and see us at the Council marquee and have a chat! The following Thursday, 29 October, join us for East Wahroonga Nights Live. This is a free, family-friendly evening at the East Wahroonga village shops from 5.30pm to 9pm. Enjoy great food from local venues, live music from local act the Kristen Fletcher Trio and face-painting for the kids. Details are on our website. Looking further ahead, the inaugural Made in Ku-ring-gai event is coming to the Ku-ring-gai Art Centre in Roseville on Sunday 15 November from 10am to 3pm. There will be live performances, creative workshops, market stalls and you can see work by local artists and pick up a unique handmade gift. Check out the Youth Art Prize and vote for your favourite in the people’s choice award. Have a great weekend! Mayor Kim Wheatley
