What's On in June 2015

WooHoo the snow has arrived in time for the start of winter, it's very beautiful and somehow it makes the world look bigger. The Queenstown Winter
Festival organisers will be very happy to see the snow along with all the visitors coming to enjoy this very cool annual winter festival. It's always packed full of fun events so check their website to look at the programme and see what you might like to go to. Winter is also a great time to attend a workshop and hone those skills under the skilled guidance of an expert. There are few learning opportunities to choose from in the list below so have a go at something new.
We are deep in the throes of organising the Arts Gold Awards
and have already received some early entries. Artists please make a note on your calendars that entries Friday 18 September. We are delighted to announce the three judges for the 2015 Awards. Cam McCracken is the Director of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery; Fiona Campbell is the Director of the Real Art Roadshow and Brian Wood is an independent art curator and writer from Wellington. As a combination they present a wealth of art world knowledge and insight. Artists who enter should be encouraged at the prospect of having their works judged by these art experts with such a broad range of skills and experience and professionalism. To read more about them
check out the judges’ page here. The Central Otago Regional Orchestra is presenting - A Celebration of Youth and Music in both Cromwell and Alexandra on the 6th and 7th of June. This regional orchestra has always encouraged young musicians and this concert has them performing what they have long been practicing. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear and see these young musicians play along with the regional orchestra.
Take care and stay warm!
