To view thesis title and viewable copy read more > Mehrdad Aghamohamadi (SE) Tessa Liebich (EPSW) What's New?HDR STUDENT INTERNATIONAL TRAVELOn 2 May 2022, the University amended the rules for international travel for staff and HDR students, reflecting DFAT’s Smartraveller destination travel advisory. As a result, approvals for DFAT Level 1 or Level 2 destinations will no longer need to go to the Vice-Chancellor and can now be considered by the relevant Senior Executive Team member for your area. For HDR students, this will be the College Vice-President and Executive Dean (VPED). Read more > NOMINATE YOUR HDR SUPERVISORNominations are now open for the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in HDR Supervision. This award recognises outstanding achievement across the various elements of supervision. HDR students who wish to nominate a supervisor are asked to submit their nomination by Friday 10 June 2022. Read more > 3MT COMPETITIONFlinders University PhD students who have passed their confirmation of candidature (by the University Finals in September) are invited to compete in the 2022 3MT Competition. In the 3MT competition, competitors progress through heats, the semi-final, the University final, and then the Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition, held virtually in Brisbane in October 2022. We are returning to a live presentation format this year, so this is your chance to connect with your peers and develop your presentations skills. Read more > PROGRESSION SUPPORT PROGRAMResearch shows that proactive intervention at the early stages of your candidature can be the most effective way to get you past your milestones and onwards to your research career. You can view the HDR Self Care Guide here or collect a hard copy from the Office of Graduate Research. The Progression Support Program provides access to six sessions of one-on-one coaching and support with strategies early in your candidature to help you move forward, meet your milestones, and complete your PhD. Please contact our HDR Progression Team for an appointment. Read more > INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) COUNSELLING AVAILABLEDo you need Intellectual Property (IP) counselling? IP is the property of your mind or proprietary knowledge and it is a productive new idea that you create. This can be an invention, trade mark, design, brand or even the application of your idea. This can also include original contributions that are part of larger industry or externally funded projects. The Office of Graduate Research undertakes IP Counselling for students and it is requested via Service One. It starts on the 13th May and runs for 5 weeks on Friday mornings from 10:00am - noon. In this article by Health, Counselling and Disability, there are two methods for dealing with this negative self-talk, and help you from feeling demotivated.
