Auction of FM sound broadcasting spectrum licence

Radio Spectrum Management has announced details for the auction of one FM sound broadcasting spectrum licence following an expression of interest process:

Southshore (Christchurch City) 94.1 MHz, licence number 298785 reserve price: $6,448.00 incl. GST.

Auction 25 will be managed by Skylarc with the licence sold on the Trade Me website. The auction will start on 15 March 2023 and run for seven days until 22 March 2023.

The term of the licence is valid until 2 April 2031 provided the successful party meets the implementation criteria.

Farewell Siegmund!

Siegmund Weiser has worked at RSM for over 40 years, many of you will have had licensing conversations with Siegmund over those years. In his role as a Radio Engineer, Siegmund witnessed the rapid changes in technologies and supported the team to effectively respond to those changes allowing the industry growth in New Zealand. Sigmund’s knowledge and experience will be hard to replace but thankfully he has always been willing to share this with the RSM team.

RSM will look to recruit a new radio engineer to join our team. As part of the licensing team, our professionals can face unique challenges and continuously learn about the ever-changing radiocommunications sector.

Meanwhile, we wish Siegmund all the best for his retirement and want to let him know we will miss him!
