Transport fares are changing.

Kia ora Bee Card user,

There are a few changes to Connect - Horizons Regional Transport bus fares from tomorrow, 1 July 2023 that you should be aware of. 

Central government's funding for half-price fares is coming to an end tomorrow, meaning that Horizons transport fares (cash and Bee Card) will be returning to full price. Information on current fare pricing for our public transport services are available on our website at horizons.govt.nz/buses-transport/bus-routes-transport.

Fare changes which might affect you include:

- Free fares for under 12s

- Half-price fares for children aged 13 - 18 years

- Half-price fares for adults ages 19 - 24 years

- Half-price fares for Community Service Card holders

What do you need to do?

To make sure you're ready for these updated fare prices, log in to your Bee Card account on beecard.co.nz and ensure your date of birth is correct. When you tag on to a bus from 1 July 2023, this updated fare will automatically apply - you don't need to do anything else.
