Day 3 Highlights

Four SO Team BC bowling athletes sitting for group photo

Corey Bennett, SOBC – Chilliwack 5-pin bowling athlete (pictured above, middle right), has been reaching new heights and breaking personal records all week, bowling above his average in all of his games!

One Thursday game didn't go Corey's way, and he felt disappointed. Coach Ian Davie from SOBC – Chilliwack stepped up to offer words of encouragement, inspiring Corey to stay positive and celebrate his incredible progress and wins! For Ian and his 5-pin bowling team, competing at National Games isn't all about winning medals. "The most important thing is that we have a good experience and to have fun!" he said.

Congratulations to Corey and so many other SO Team BC athletes who are making lasting memories, meeting new friends, and setting new personal bests! 🥳

SO Team BC athletes at a Healthy Athletes screening

Throughout the week, athletes at National Games have been receiving free health screenings in a variety of disciplines including vision care, dentistry, nutrition, audiology, physical therapy, emotional health, and more. Learn more about Special Olympics Healthy Athletes programs here!

"This is my first Healthy Athletes screening. I'm learning a lot and I'm enjoying myself! I think it's a good thing to attend and the volunteers are doing an awesome job. I wouldn't change a thing!”
