13 March 2026 An update on Ōmōkihi!Just think – by the end of the year, you could be checking your inbox from the comfort of Ōmōkihi, with a coffee and a good book by your side. The team is on track for the grand opening, and we're also out looking for tenants to take over the new café space. If that sounds like you, or someone you know, keep reading...
Construction progressCook Brothers Construction has made quick progress this year: the 'first fix' for the western half of the building is complete, which means the windows, cables, plumbing and doorframes are all in and the plaster has gone up on the walls. Preparation for the landscaping is underway with soil arriving onsite in April . The latest photos were taken just yesterday and you can see the full gallery here. The team really appreciates the continued support the community is showing. Thank you all!
The café at Ōmōkihi could be yours...Here's your opportunity to lease and operate Ōmōkihi's new café space. Your customers will include visitors to the facility, Ōmōkihi staff members, the local community and passing foot traffic – we estimate at least 250,000 people will visit the facility each year. The space available for lease consists of a prep kitchen and café located on the east side of the building, with direct access from the outdoor seating decked area on to the landscaped lawns leading down to the river. The lease area includes both indoor (139 square metres) and
outdoor (44 square metres) customer seating spaces. Get in touch and stay updatedCheck here for background information on the Ōmōkihi project.
