BOFA

CALLING ALL FOODIES!

If you are a foodie, then get your taste buds ready to enjoy the Launceston festival (starting this Friday 29 April until Sunday 8 May), where we are celebrating Launceston’s title as the newest UNESCO City of Gastronomy (that’s food and wine to you) and as Wotif’s 2022 Best Town to Visit in Australia!

FOOD, FUN AND FILMS, TOO…
AT AWARD WINNING HARVEST MARKET

FOOD

Start your Saturday with a breakfast coffee and roll while you connect with locals and meet the farmers producing Tasmania’s freshest seasonal produce: hormone-free meat, organic dairy, artisan bread and pastries, cool-climate wines, artisan ciders and blushing autumn apples.

FUN FOR ADULTS

The wine, cider, beer and snacks continue all afternoon and evening accompanied by a free music festival including the Tasmanian Leather Orchestra, the Tim Gleeson Celtic trio and Susanna Coleman-Brown. Grab a glass of something, kick back, enjoy the music and connect with friends while the kids are having fun!

FUN FOR KIDS

The team at Rascalrobot Art Space have got loads of free fun for your kids. They’ll make painted masks, create giant bubbles, play improvised music and do unexpected things with balloons – all under trained adult supervision! The afternoon ends with a Remade March led by Interweave Arts with kids invited to wear their favourite film character costumes.

SO MANY REASONS TO VISIT LAUNCESTON AND TAMAR VALLEY

Fun facts! Most people who visit Tasmania’s Tamar Valley and Launceston for the BOFA Film Festival tend to stay on 3-4 days longer because there is so much to do…. OR else curse their bad planning for not doing so!

For example, did you know that the Tamar Valley Wine Route is called “One of the Top 10 Wine Routes in the World” by Essential Travel magazine (UK)? Did you know that Launceston is on the confluence of THREE rivers – and Tamar River Cruises will give you a complimentary glass of wine to enjoy it as you cruise in style? And did you know that icons like Cradle Mountain and Hobart’s MONA Museum are only a couple of hours drive away?
