Meet the new University Higher Degrees by Research Committee Student Representatives.
Flinders PhD candidate Michelle Sims and Poche SA + NT Director Associate Professor Kalinda Griffiths are in Canberra this week as part of Science Meets Parliament (SMP).
Lisa Callahan, a PhD candidate within the College of Medicine and Public Health, is one of the Healthy Development Adelaide (HDA) and Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation (CRF) PhD Excellence Award winners for 2024.
The desire to harness big data in health care brought Natansh Modi, an NHMRC PhD candidate, to the Clinical Cancer Epidemiology Lab at Flinders. We spoke with him about his dramatic career change to now focus on AI and big data in health.

Do you have an outstanding HDR Supervisor? Nominations will open for the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in HDR Supervision next month. HDR students will have the opportunity to nominate a supervisor for their contribution to HDR supervision excellence at Flinders University. More details to follow soon.

Did you miss the Getting Started with your HDR session last week? Not to worry - you can review the recording. This session talks you through REST and Inspire, showing you around the two systems and how to use them. You can review the recording of the session under the 'Getting Started' section on the REST FLO Site (Canvas).
How to plan your PhD workshop - Mon 6 May, 10-12pm
This workshop by Hugh Kearns from ThinkWell will introduce you to the PhD Planning Toolkit, helping you to create a big picture thesis plan, unpack your thesis down into logical parts and create tasks list for each stage of your thesis. This is a practical, hands on workshop help online via Zoom recommended for students in their first year of candidature.
