Scuplture in Central Otago 2011 at Rippon Vineyard, Lake Wanaka.
“There's no retirement for an artist, it's your way of living so there's no end to it.”
- Henry Moore.
Here are the very freshest offerings from the arts for March and April. We have so much happening in Central Otago and a big thank you to you all for supplying me with your information
Autumn is my favourite time of year. I love how the late afternoon sun drapes everything with a golden-honey light. The vineyards are ablaze with colour and the grapes are gently ripening. This means it’s time to celebrate the best of autumn with the Clyde Wine and Food Harvest Festival being held on Easter Sunday.
For those with a penchant for opera, Operatunity Entertainment’s presentation of Three Tenors and a Soprano will provide a special night out in Alexandra.
I hope everyone makes the most of what’s on offer at the Wanaka Festival of Colour. Also, make sure you get to Rippon Vineyard to see the Sculpture in Central Otago exhibition. To observe this year’s collection of works in such a spectacular backdrop is a true credit to both the organisers and artists. Once again the Wanaka Arts Charitable Trust has done an amazing job. A friend and I captured some beautiful images of the event on film and video.Click here if you want to see more, (This link will take you directly to Central Otago Arts’ You Tube page).
Until next month, all the very best,
Regards,
Maxine Williams
