HUGE NEWS!
New Laws Make Choosing Adoption Easier!
Our Three Adoption Bills Become Law in Idaho!
Last week, a full year of work came to a triumphant end as the three bills we proposed to the Idaho legislature were signed into law by Governor Little. We owe thanks to the many senior legislators & executives in the Capitol who guided and assisted us.
Here's what the bills do:
We are thrilled about this bill, and believe it will have significant impact!
Bill S1308 "Wherever and whenever contraception is discussed or dispensed, or both, or sexually transmitted diseases or sexually transmitted infections are discussed or tested for, or both" ...
then, students will be educated on current adoption practices, resources, and the Safe Haven Act option. This will apply to students from middle school through University.
Future generations will learn about adoption before the crisis hits, and will have more complete information about ALL their options
Bill S1368 ensures that unlicensed adoption facilitators from out-of-state will no longer be able to advertise in Idaho or match birthmothers with adoptive parents. This was needed because such facilitators take most of the adoptive parents' budget and don't provide the other services needed to care for the birth mother or to finalize the adoption. Plus, these people were operating without any kind of oversight. With this bill, people arranging adoptions must be licensed professionals, either agencies or attorneys.
Bill S1309 Removing the expense cap makes it easier to cover a birth mother’s expenses (with less delay and less hassle) while decreasing the overall cost of adoption by lessening the administrative burdens.
This also removes the incentive for placing babies in any of the other 40 states that have already eliminated their caps on birth mother expenses, thus keeping Idaho babies in Idaho.
Celebrating these Three New Laws We are SO excited to celebrate these important advancements, as these three bills become law in Idaho. More people will know that adoption is an option for women facing unplanned pregnancy, and more future birth mothers will be better respected, honored and cared for.
Join us as we continue to encourage others to choose this healthier, noble option.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CONTINUE THIS WORK!
There's so much more to be done! And I'd *love* to continue this work, and we need more resources to make that happen.
As you know, 100% of our donations are used for our work; they cover travel, printing and web expenses. There's no salary in this for me. Never has been.
We need to triple our donation level.
If you applaud this work, please consider either a monthly or a one-time gift. It's fully tax-deductible.

We do want to continue this work and introduce another three new bills next year. We'll also work with organizations that illuminate new laws and share them with other States. This requires travel.
We need your help to continue this work. Please consider supporting Unplanned Good.
About Unplanned GoodWe promote adoption as a positive option for those facing unplanned pregnancy. It can be so very good (and beautiful!) for all involved.
Unplanned Good is reaching out to both teens and their parents, to let them know that adoption is an option. Studies have shown that young women are 50% more likely to see their pregnancy through and make an adoption plan when an adult in their life suggests this path.
Since one out of four teens gets pregnant before 20, we want everyone to know about the adoption option. Be ready to suggest it to your daughter, granddaughter, niece, neighbor or student. Please visit our site, and pass it on. Read the encouraging, heartfelt stories there. Send in your own story, and ask a friend to do the same.
