Central Otago District Arts Trust

Hello

What's On in Central Otago - February.

A farewell for artist's in residence Jenny Bornholdt and Gregory O'Brien held at Henderson House in January.

It was such a treat having Gregory O'Brien and Jenny Bornholdt as the Henderson House artist's in residence in 2018. Their contributions to art-related events in the region were deeply appreciated and we look forward to seeing how their time spent in Central Otago informs their work in the future. It is most exciting to hear that the next Henderson House artist in residence is New Zealand contemporary artist Dick Frizzell.

Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery will be celebrating the opening of Dunedin artist Nicola Jackson's exhibition 'The Bloggs' on Friday, February the 8th, at 5.30pm. The opening will coincide with the announcement of the new appointments to the positions of Art Gallery Coordinator and Museum and Research Coordinator within the establishment.

Organisers of New Art in Old Cromwell have come up with a variety of workshops available for the general public to participate in. If you would like to learn a new craft or extend your skills in a particular discipline book your place now before spaces fill up. These workshops are led by well-known local artists and will be held in the Heritage Precinct in Cromwell in March 2019.

The Central Otago Art Society are now offering 'Monday Painters' art classes for beginners and intermediate level painters. These classes are directed by Central Otago artist Debbie Malcolm - new registrations and non-member registrations are welcomed.

The Rural Women New Zealand Wool On Awards will be held on the 30th and 31st of August this year, entries into these awards open on the 15th February. For further information visit www.woolon.co.nz or email entries@woolon.co.nz.

Finally, the Clyde Theatre Group (CTG) would like to extend an invitation to all local theatre buffs to become a CTG member. If this sounds like something you might be interested in please email clydetheatre@gmail.com for more information.
