Kia ora koutou,

We just wanted to send out a quick reminder note about a few things that are coming up over the next few weeks.

Our Kanorau Koiora Taketake - Indigenous Biodiversity Community Grant & our Pūtea Hapori Urupare Āhuarangi - Community Climate Response Fund are now open for applications.

These contestable funds are open for applications for community-led projects that support communities to reconnect with and improve indigenous biodiversity, support the regeneration and continuation of mātauranga Māori, build resilience of communities and our environment to the effects of a changing climate and support the transition to a sustainable, carbon natural regional economy by 2050.

Applications are welcomed from whānau/hapū/iwi, Māori land trusts, private landowners, individuals, not-for-profit organisations and umbrella groups.

Last year we granted 33 projects throughout the region from a wide range of community groups. Further information on these projects, the eligibility criteria and application form for either of these grants can be found here.

Application forms and associated information for this Grant must be received no later 5pm on Friday 2 May 2025 to be eligible for the 2025/26 funding round.

Also if you have something you want to share send an email no later than Monday 5 May 2025.

Sian, Tyler, Martin & Christina
