Dear Women's Auxiliary Board, I hope this newsletter finds each of you well. We have been staying busy on campus with the start of some of our fall events. A couple weeks ago, we had a group of wonderful volunteers who served our students during Free Lunch On Wednesdays. It warmed my heart to see the impact their presence makes on our students. There is much excitement approaching as we continue in this fall semester here on University
Hill. We hope you will all come to our beautiful campus and bring your friends to the DBU Women's Auxiliary Board fall events. Scroll through to see highlights from this semester as well as dates and details for all of the ways to be involved at DBU this coming season!
FLOW - Free Lunch On Wednesdays in September The Women's Auxiliary Board provided lunch and served many DBU students at the Baptist Student Ministry Free Lunch On Wednesdays (FLOW) event on September 27. This lunch coincided with DBU Mission's Week with an emphasis on international students. Thanks to the generous donations by women in the Women's Auxiliary
Board, food from many cultures including Chinese, Hispanic, and Asian, was served. Thank you to all of the women who have eagerly volunteered to help with this service opportunity. We serve one week each semester. Plan to serve with us in the spring on Wednesday, April 10!
DBU Leadership Gala
Monday, November 6
Chantilly Ballroom, Hilton Anatole Hotel
7:00 PM Since 1898, DBU has produced servant leaders whose hearts desire is to transform the world and strengthen their communities. To that end, DBU seeks to honor those whose lives reflect the values that the University holds dear. The annual DBU Leadership Gala seeks to honor individuals who use their God-given talents and abilities to excel in their chosen field of work and whose lives are testimonies of achievements in free enterprise and service to the community through the Russell H. Perry Free Enterprise Award and the Tom Landry Leadership Award.
The 2023 Russell H. Perry Free Enterprise Award will be presented to Jim and Sally Nation, and the 2023 Tom Landry Leadership Award will be presented to Bob Lilly. Ladies - We need your help in supporting scholarships through the DBU Leadership Gala! It is a practical way to impact future Christian leaders and their families - a scholarship is a ministry that provides education! Please consider sponsoring a table! Ruth Awards Christmas Luncheon
Wednesday, December 6
Hillcrest Great Hall, John G. Mahler Student Center
11:30 AM-1:00 PM Our Ruth Awards Luncheon honors women who exemplify commitment to God, family, and others like Ruth from the Bible. This annual Christmas tradition is always a favorite of our members as we hear the testimonies of ladies who love the Lord and support DBU wholeheartedly. Invitations will be mailed and the online portal will open for reservations, October 23 - October 27. As we prepare for the highly anticipated Ruth Awards Luncheon, we want to emphasize the urgency of
securing your RSVP promptly. To ensure you don't miss out on this inspiring gathering, I strongly urge you to RSVP at your earliest convenience. Each year, this event has sold out swiftly, and I wouldn't want any of our valued Women's Auxiliary Board members to miss the opportunity to be part of this extraordinary occasion.
DBU All-University Prayer Requests Athletics DBU student-athletes are very busy in October. Please pray for their safety and for the Lord to give them opportunities to display Christian sportsmanship as they compete to the best of their abilities. The following teams will be competing and traveling throughout the nation: Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Bass Fishing, Bowling, and Hockey. DBU

They will be partnering with DBU graduates Jeff and Audrea Medina in their ministry in Santo Domingo. Please pray for our DBU Baseball as they spread the Gospel in the Dominican Republic. College of Christian FaithPlease pray for the Ministry Guidance Luncheon on October 27th. Pray that God prepares our faculty to have encouraging conversations with the nearly 300 undergraduates who feel called to Christian ministry. Also pray for God to move in students’ hearts at this luncheon.
Scholarships are always a great way to support DBU. Students are transformed personally by receiving a Christ-centered higher education at DBU but need help financially. To contribute, go to www.dbu.edu/give. Choose "Student Scholarships." You may also send a check in the mail to Dallas Baptist
University, 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
Women's Auxiliary Board Scholarship Recipient - Millie Murphy
This month, we wanted to highlight another Women's Auxiliary Board Scholarship recipient. Meet Millie! Read her biography below and see how your generosity has made an impact in the life of this student. "My name is Millie Murphy and I am a senior studying sociology. I grew up in both Alpharetta, Georgia, and Madison, Mississippi. I am a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society and sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa. I have also been given the amazing opportunity to be a fellow in DBU's Presidential
Fellows Program and to work on campus as a student worker in the Office of University Advancement. I attend Northway Church and am the female leader for one of the college gospel community groups that meet on DBU's campus. My hopes for the future are to pursue a Master of Social Work, and work in the foster care and adoption system. I am excited to see all that the Lord has for me in my time left at DBU and am so grateful for all that He has already done during my time here!"
