Message from the Registrar

Kia ora koutou,

I hope everyone in the Southern Hemisphere has made it through winter well and is starting to enjoy some of these longer, warmer spring days.

Welcome to this month’s newsletter. In it you’ll find details for our next webinar which will be about confidentiality and conflicts of interest. The webinar is on 30 September from 10am – 11am NZST. Find the link to register further down the newsletter.

We’ve included the licensing and complaints statistics for the 2024/25 financial year, which may be of interest to many of you. The number of licensed advisers continues to grow. Complaints for both licensed and unlicensed advisers have also increased.

With the move to digital licences, the IAA Auckland office has a surplus of printed "Professional Standards" leaflets. We are making this supply available to licensed immigration advisers for pickup from our office until 10 October 2025. Please email to arrange a time for pickup if you are interested.

A reminder that the new IAA online portal was released earlier this year. Before you use the new portal for the first time, make sure to link your existing record. Click here for more details.

We hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter.

Keep our standards high,
Ngā mihi nui,

Duncan Connor
Registrar of Immigration Advisers
