Principal's Message

“The Power of Break: It Leads to Connection, Appreciation and Reset”

With the mid-term break and WA Day fast approaching, our Principal reflects on how we spend that precious family time, inspired by accompanying the Year 10 group on their recent camp. Mr Watson encourages families to be intentional about carving out quiet, unstructured downtime rather than filling every moment. He also shares the joy of recently interviewing Year 4 families for Year 7 2029 entry.

Champagnat Day Awards

Each year on the Feast of St Marcellin Champagnat, we pause to celebrate the life and legacy of the founder of the Marist Brothers, whose vision continues to shape our College community today.

At Newman College, our Champagnat Day Awards are a special opportunity to recognise students and staff who live out our Marist charism in everyday ways, through the way they learn, teach, serve, and care for others. These awards shine a light on those who quietly and consistently bring our Marist Characteristics to life across the College.

This year, we are pleased to extend this celebration by inviting parents to nominate a staff member for a Champagnat Day Award. If there is a staff member who has made a meaningful difference to your child’s experience, or who consistently reflects the spirit of Marist education, we warmly encourage you to share your nomination via the link provided.

We look forward to celebrating together and recognising the many ways our community continues to live “in the way of Mary” through simple, faith-filled, and generous service to others.
