CHS Career Conference

We’re excited to invite parents to participate in the annual CHS Career Conference, hosted in-person at Crofton House on the afternoon of March 10, 2025, where Grade 11 and 12 students will have the chance to connect with alumnae, parents, and other members of the CHS and broader community to explore various career paths. This is a great opportunity to share your experiences, offer insights, and inspire CHS students as they consider their future careers. A formal invitation to volunteer will be shared in the new year, but if you're interested in learning more or indicating your interest now, please email advancement@croftonhouse.ca. We look forward to your involvement! Learn more.

Preparing for 2025-2026 Enrolment

The enrolment process for returning students for the upcoming school year begins mid-December. Please look for a letter from the Head of School and the Chair of the Board announcing the 2025-2026 tuition on Wednesday, December 18. Additional information about the enrolment process and instructions for completing the enrolment agreement questionnaire will follow on Thursday, December 19. The completed questionnaire is due by Saturday, February 1, 2025

Families planning to withdraw at the end of the 2024-2025 school year or those facing circumstances that create uncertainty about enrolling next year are encouraged to contact Ena Harrop, Head of School, before the end of December.

Has Your Contact Information Changed Since September?

It is essential for the School to have the most current contact information, particularly in the event of an emergency. If there has been a change in your address, email address or telephone/cellphone number, you can update your contact information in MySchool. Select “My Contact Details - Edit” from the panel on the right-hand side. Replace any information that requires updating and SAVE.

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

This Friday, December 6, our campus flag will be flown at half-mast to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Observed across Canada, the day honours the 14 women who were killed in the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre and highlights the ongoing fight against gender-based violence. Let us reflect, remember, and recommit to creating a safer, more equitable world for all women.

Community Parking Etiquette

Following an event on campus earlier this week, the School received complaints from neighbours about disrespectful parking by drivers in our CHS community. The behaviour described is disappointing and prompts us to urge everyone to show consideration for those around the School, as we rely on our neighbours' goodwill. Please do not park across driveways and lane entrances, respect cones marking high-traffic areas, follow posted signs, and turn off vehicle engines instead of idling. These practices align with the Crofton House School Parent & Guardian Code of Conduct.

Holiday & Vacation Calendar for 2025-2026

The Holiday & Vacation Calendar (click the 2025-2026 tab) has been updated for the 2025–2026 school year. The calendar can be found on the My CHS Community Portal or by searching for “holiday calendar” in the website search tool. Our holiday and vacation schedule is generous, with extended breaks twice during the school year (December/January and March). The School thanks parents/guardians for restricting family vacation plans to the established holidays.

Junior School After-School Program Cancellations on December 19

All after-school activities, including After School Care Programs (Junior Kindergarten to Grade 7) are cancelled on Thursday, December 19, to accommodate a staff event. Please make family plans to pick up your child at 3:10 pm when school ends for the day.

Winter Bazaar 2024: A Heartfelt Thank You

On Saturday, the Winter Bazaar brought our community together for a festive celebration filled with holiday cheer and community spirit. Families enjoyed cherished Bazaar traditions, alongside exciting new booths and activities, as well as delicious treats that added a fresh touch to the event. The turnout exceeded expectations and the Bazaar was a resounding success!

From the Winter Bazaar team, thank you for your support in making the Winter Bazaar 2024 a success! It takes a team and we had a mighty one: from our event, facilities and custodial teams, teachers and school leadership, convenors, the Winter Bazaar organizing team, and of course all of our CHS parents, students and families – we are so grateful! We all showed up in some way from organizing to donations to purchases. We are so proud that our efforts lift up two charities, the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre and Women Leaders of Tomorrow, both of whom do so much for vulnerable people. Stay tuned for more information about results from our 2024 Bazaar in the new year, along with a consultative process for selecting the Bazaar community partner(s) for the Winter Bazaar 2025.

Last but not least, the CHS Parents’ Auxiliary would like to especially thank this year’s Winter Bazaar co-chairs Stephenie Gold, Vivian Ma and Carol Wang and the executive team for their leadership and tireless dedication in bringing this year’s Bazaar to life!
