Frustrated with slow vaccine uptake and a sharp rise in COVID infections, some countries, such as Austria and Greece, have introduced vaccine mandates. And last week, the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, called for other EU countries to consider doing the same.
Three ethicists make the case for the UK not to go down this road. “The risk of vaccine mandates to public confidence in government are substantial,” they argue, “but there are even more important moral issues.”
For the latest in our Curious Kids series, we look at what we’d need to build a space station on the Moon – and why a satellite that orbits the Moon would be more practical. Plus, we hear why checkout-free technology now in supermarkets won’t save the rest of the high street.
