The Young Virtuosi: One concert. Two international winners.

Experience the exceptional talents of Jeonghwan Kim, winner of the Sydney International Piano Competition, and Yeyeong Jenny Jin, winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition, in a mesmerising performance for piano and violin that celebrates one of music’s most beloved instrumental pairings.

Following a whirl-wind New Zealand national tour, these two world-class artists perform in Sydney on 16 November and Melbourne on the 18 November for one night only. Look forward to a moving evening of romantic works by Chopin, Saint-Saëns and Wieniawski, along with the Australian Premiere of ‘Waipounamu’ by New Zealand composer Michael Norris.

Award-winning French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet enjoys a prolific recording and international concert career. He regularly works with The Cleveland, San Francisco Symphony, BBC Symphony and London Philharmonic orchestras, NHK Symphony Orchestra, and collaborates with many renowned conductors across the world.

Jean-Efflam Bavouzet is globally renowned for interpreting Debussy and Schumann. At Snow Concert Hall, Canberra, he will showcase Debussy’s Études, Book II and Children’s Corner alongside Schumann’s Arabesque in C major, Op. 18, offering an exploration of these composers' iconic works.

Jeonghwan Kim, the 2023 First Prize winner of the Sydney International Piano Competition, recently concluded a remarkable tour across Australia. This tour, which spanned from 30 September to 22 October 2024, showcased his extraordinary talent in cities including Adelaide, Bunbury, Perth, Wagga Wagga, Canberra, Bundanoon, Gunnedah, Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, and Sydney. Jeonghwan’s concerts left a trail of awe-inspired audiences, underscoring his status as one of the most exciting emerging pianists on the global stage.
