Biodiversity Offsetting Workshops

You are invited to a regional workshop on the use of biodiversity offsetting under the Resource Management Act (RMA). This workshop is to introduce and discuss the recently released National Guidance on Biodiversity Offsetting under the RMA.

Two of the authors will present the workshop:

• Dr Fleur Maseyk, Practice Leader – Conservation Science, The Catalyst Group
• Dr Graham Ussher, Principal Ecologist, RMA Ecology Ltd

If you are involved in the drafting, implementing, or overseeing of local biodiversity offsetting policies this promises to be an interesting event. It will also relate to the full RMA effects management hierarchy, including steps to avoid, minimise, remedy, or compensate.

The workshop will be split into these sessions:

• Policy drafting and analysis
• Technical offset design
• Consent evaluation, and
• Strategic mechanisms for delivering offsets.

Attendees can choose which sessions they would like to sign up to.
