Local civil organisations and NGO activists staged protests in front of the US embassy in the capital, Jakarta, this week for America's support to Israel. Indonesia has always been rooting for Palestine in the Israeli-Palestine conflict. The two countries' relationship went way back in the mid 1940s, when Palestine was among the first countries to recognise Indonesia's independence. Apart from that, both are Muslim-majority countries. However, western scholars seem to dominate the academic discussions related to the Israeli and Palestine conflicts. We have been translating many pieces from other editions for our Indonesian readers, but we have yet to really contribute to the discussion. That's why we would like to invite more Indonesian scholars to contribute to ongoing discussions by sending your pitch to us. Please send your pitch here.
Warmest, Ika Krismantari
