April 21: state league roster lock

Semi-Finals and Championship matches will be played IN-PERSON on Saturday, May 10 at Oakland University for our Spring 2025 Season Concluding event:

  • Fortnite
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • Rocket League
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate High School (HS) Varsity 
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Middle School (MS)

Code + Conquer: A Statewide Video Game Design Contest for Middle Schoolers! 

This challenge offers students (grades 6-8) with a hands-on opportunity to develop their creativity, coding skills, and problem-solving abilities while showcasing their passion for gaming and technology 🚀🎮

Using Code.org's Game Lab, students can create a game showcasing Michigan's history, geography, or nature. 

Please share with your students!

High School Awards Program Nominations OPEN!

MHSEL is now accepting nominations for Spring All-State Players, Players of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

Nominations are due by April 22. An awards ceremony will be held at Oakland University on May 10 during the in-person championship event. Click the buttons below to access the nomination forms!

MCC HS Esports Team Gains a Global Sponsor

Mason County Central High School Esports Team recently received a global sponsor, Anda Seat. Anda Seat indicated their goal is to not just provide equipment but to be a meaningful partner in MCCHS esports journey building a successful and sustainable program.

Esports Learning Lab Day Recap – March 7

MHSEL partnered with Haptix Studio for an exciting Esports Learning Lab Day, bringing together 30 students and educators from four high schools (Bay City Central, Tawas, Lapeer & Howell). The event offered hands-on experiences, tech exploration and career insights in esports. Major highlights include:

  • Haptix Studio Tour: Participants explored cutting-edge motion capture tech, VR and video production with hands-on demos and expert guidance.

  • Esports Career Pathways: Jono Eaton from MSU Esports shared insights on scholarships, collegiate esports, and careers in gaming and tech.
