Happy New Year to all and welcome to the first edition of our community board newsletter for 2021. On behalf of our Board, I hope you all had a great break with friends and whānau.
There's lots coming up this year, with consultation now open for the Wheels to Wings Major Cycleway and the Central City Parking Policy, so check these out and have your say, and remember consultation on our city's Draft 2021-31 Long Term Plan opens March.
Summer is still in full swing, with lots of events and activities coming up around town. From community markets to music festivals, there's lots of opportunities to get out and connect with your community. And whether you're a cycling enthusiast or new to cycling, don't forget to sign up to the Aotearoa Bike Challenge - you can sign up as an individual or part of a group, so give it a go! Stay together, look after one another.

We also hear from Averil Worner from Rangitahi Bryndwr Trust who gave an update on some of the great work the group has been doing.
Our Board received correspondence from Liam Stretch regarding traffic safety concerns in Staveley Street and Nick Carvel regarding the installation of a barbeque in Nunweek Park.
We approved grants from our 2020-21 Youth Development Fund, including $100 to Riley Thompson towards participating in the Touch New Zealand National Tournament in Auckland, from 12 to 14 February 2021 and to Aaron Lin towards attending the Hands-On at Otago programme at the University of Otago from 10 to 15 January 2021. Thank you for 'bin good'

Thanks to everyone who had ‘bin good’ in 2020 – in December we were able to recycle 84 per cent of our truckloads. We need everyone to keep up the good work this year.
Download our handy bin app to get reminders on your bin day or changes to our bin service. Challenge the family and have a go with our Bin Good game. A fun way to learn what items go into what bin.
